MI-COEJL hosts successful green building seminar

Michigan Coalition on the Environment and Jewish Life (MI-COEJL) recently held a ‘green building’ event at Temple Kol Ami in West Bloomfield. A segment of a stunning video production called “design:e2 (the economies of being environmentally conscious)” was aired.

The showing was followed by a panel, consisting of sustainable building design professionals Daniel Redstone and Roger Wade Young and moderated by James L. Newman, LEED Accredited Professional and Certified Energy Manager (CEM). The audience at this event included Temple Kol Ami members, representatives from several churches in Oakland County, other interfaith and secular environmental partners, Audubon Club members and MI-COEJL supporters.

The film on cutting-edge architectural technologies and the panel of LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accredited engineers and architects brought insights of the positive economic effects of sustainable architecture to the audience.

MI-COEJL’s commitment and promotion of sustainability draws on the depth of belief that we are responsible as stewards of God’s creation to protect and heal the earth.
