On the Brink
receives even more notice

A book sponsored by MEC and authored by MEC Policy Consultant Dave Dempsey has been named a "Michigan Notable Book" for 2005. The book, On the Brink: The Great Lakes in the 21st Century, also won a Michigan Historical Society Award of Merit last fall.

The Library of Michigan annually selects the Michigan Notable Books, a list featuring 20 books published the previous calendar year that are about or set in Michigan or on the Great Lakes or written by a native or resident of Michigan. The Michigan Notable Books program is designed to promote reading and raise awareness of Michigan's literary heritage.

For more information on the program and the other titles, visit the web site for the Michigan Department of History, Arts and Libraries at http://www.michigan.gov/hal/.
