Kennecott Mine upcoming public hearings

The Michigan Environmental Council believes that proposed Kennecott Eagle Mine application fails to satisfy a number of the requirements set forth in statute designed to protect the fragile natural resources of the Yellow Dog Plains area. These deficiencies should result in a decision by the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality to deny the permit.

We encourage you to attend upcoming public hearings and submit written comments regarding this proposal.
